The complexity arises from the fact that the boiler control needs to be set to a higher value than the hot water cylinder thermostat, or the boiler water will never raise the cylinder water to the setting on the cylinder thermostat.

It can vary from 70 degrees (room temperature) up to 180F if you need it. The boiler is maintained at a different scale, the 180 to 140 range because you have to. Oh well.
